If you're using a wireless Android Auto or CarPlay adapter
and it stays on even when the car is turned off
(becasue USB port is always on)

Here is a simple solution!

Our custom-designed magic cable has a built-in power blocker that shuts off your wireless adapter, ensuring your phone disconnects as soon as you leave the car. Additionally, it separates the data and the power for faster charging your phone, if you use the wired connection.

Where to buy the Magic Cable

How it works:
  • The connector #1 (white plastic tongue) of the cable goes into your car's "smart" USB port (the one for wired Android Auto or CarPlay)
  • The connector #2 (black plastic tongue) of the cable goes into charging (power only) port (might require USB car charger or USB-A to USB-C adapter, see examples below)
  • Plug your wireless adapter into port #3
The way the magicable works, it is using the power from the adjacent USB port or cigarette lighter socket. These turn off with the car, as they should. In other words, the magicable separates the data and the power source for your wireless Car Play or Android Auto adapter, making sure it doesn't stay on when you don't need it. As easy as that! And the best part is, it’s compatible with any wireless adapter out there.
The following cars are known to have this issue:
  • Kia Niro / Niro EV
  • Kia EV6
  • Kia Sportage
  • Kia Soul / Soul EV
  • Kia Seltos
  • Kia Telluride
  • Hyundai Ioniq 5
  • Hyundai Ioniq 6
  • Hyundai Elantra
  • Hyundai Sonata
  • Hyundai Palisade
Please note, that depending on your car and the position and/or availability of the additional USB port, you may need one of the following:
  • USB car charger (plugs into a 12V outlet; widely available at dollar stores or you can get it using the links below)
  • USB-A to USB-C adapter (included with most wireless Android Auto/CarPlay adapters; otherwise, available at dollar stores or you can get it using the links below)
Not sure what this is all about? We're happy to explain!

Android Auto and CarPlay seamlessly integrate your phone with your car’s infotainment system, providing easy access to navigation, calls, messages, and music. They are available in both wired and wireless options—wired connections offer a stable link, while wireless allows for a clutter-free experience without plugging in your phone every time you drive.

Cars that only support wired Android Auto or CarPlay can be easily 'converted' to wireless. To enable wireless connectivity, various adapters are available, offering a seamless, cable-free experience without sacrificing any functionality. Simply plug the adapter into your car’s USB port, pair your phone via Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, and enjoy an effortless connection every time you drive.

However, some car models keep their 'smart' USB ports powered even when the car is off. This can cause issues with wireless Android Auto / CarPlay adapters, as your phone stays connected to the adapter even after you've left the car. As a result, you may experience the following:

  • Wasted Mobile Data: Your phone can't switch to your home Wi-Fi and keeps using mobile data.
  • Audio Confusion: Your phone tries to connect to your car’s Bluetooth for calls and media playback—even when you’re not in the car.
  • Power Drain: The wireless adapter continues to drain power from your car’s battery, even when not in use.
That is why you need our Magic Cable which blocks the power to the adapter when the car is off.
